One of the most commodious of apartment plans has been embodied in the two apartment building which is located at 11019 Homewood Ave., in Morgan Park. The building is the property of Clayton Cunningham, who occupies the lower apartment.
The streets leading toward the apartment are particularly attractive, curving into a real boulevard at this point, and lead the observer to expect the unusually fine in home facilities. In the summer the building is attractively surrounded by clumps of bushes. There are several large trees.
To the north there is a driveway leading to a two machine heated brick garage which is at the rear of the house. The garage is noticeably well supplied with windows as is the whole of the main structure.
Entrance is made at the north side of the building into a large vestibule. Stairs lead from this to the upper apartment, the lower apartment door being at the south end of the room. Since both of the apartments are arranged in exactly the same manner, let us look into the lower one and save the walk upstairs.
The door opens into a hallway which runs the length of the apartment, dividing it almost in half. The first opening to the right is that into the large living room, decorated in greyish tones. A grand piano occupies a central position. Both here and in the sunporch beyond the rugs are grey in color. The sunroom, which faces on the street, has ferns to offset the chill of January. These one can almost see from the glass enclosed room. One of the bedrooms of the apartment also has openings into the sunroom and the centre hall. A bathroom joins the 2nd bedroom which is the last room on the right of the hall.
At the rear, to the left, is the 3rd bedroom and another bath. Coming forward on the left, the large dining room is seen. The kitchen opens to the north of the dining room. It is finished entirely in white and is most inviting. A large cupboard is built in, an attractive feature with glass front and large drawer space.
There are hardwood floors and hot water heat throughout the building. Outside steps to the rear of the apartment afford a delivery entrance to both upper and lower apartments.
Mr. Cunningham is a lawyer. His office is located in the Tacoma Building.
