Finding aids are detailed guides that describe the contents of a specific archival collection. They provide historical context and a detailed inventory of the boxes and folders we hold, helping you pinpoint exactly what materials you need before you visit.

Please note: The finding aids available below represent only a limited part of our total archives. As we continue to process and reorganize our materials, we are slowly building this digital library. If you do not see a finding aid that matches your topic, please contact us. Our volunteer staff is happy to help you determine if we have other unlisted collections that might meet your research needs.

Planning Your Research Visit

To ensure our volunteer staff can properly assist you, research access to our collections is by appointment only.

If you identify materials in our finding aids that support your work, please review our research policies before requesting a visit:

  • Document Your Scope: Your specific research scope and the exact folders you wish to view must be documented and reviewed by the RHS Collections Committee prior to scheduling your appointment.
  • Research Session Fees: To help fund the ongoing preservation of our archives, the following fees apply per research session:
    • Members: $20
    • Non-Members: $30
    • Students: Free

(Please note: All on-site research must take place on the first floor in our designated public spaces.)
