Address: 10756 S Seeley Ave
Published In: Weekly Review (1923-1928)

THE home of Mr. and Mrs. Fischer, at 10756 S. Seeley Ave., stands out imposingly when viewed from three or four different approaches. The lot has 162 feet frontage on Seeley Ave., at 108th Pl., and extends back to Hoyne Ave.

The auto driveway is usually entered through the porte cochere, either to the garage in the rear or to the exit on 108th Pl.

A large cement porch faces 108th Pl. and is only partially covered at the entrance. The reception hall is large and spacious and runs the width of the house, back to the porte cochere.

The living room is on the east of the reception hallway and faces on Seeley Ave. The music room is on the north end of the living room. Entrance to the sun parlor is also from the living room.

French doors are used throughout the entire downstairs.

The dining room is on the west end of the house, with a conservatory and breakfast porch off it. A butler’s pantry separates the dining room from the kitchen. The entire kitchen is tiled and is very modern and up-to-date.

There are four large bedrooms, all with ample closets and two full tiled bathrooms on the second floor. A sleeping porch is also an added feature.

The house has a full sized basement, with the fruit cellar, coal cellar, drying room and laundry all partitioned off and plastered. The house is heated by hot water and the two-car garage is heated from the house.
